겨자의 잎과 씨앗에서 느낄 수 있는 톡 쏘는 맛과 향을 느낄 수 있습니다. 

기름기 많은 육류, 비린 생선과 함께 먹을 경우 깔끔한 맛을 주어 좋습니다. 

셀러드로 많이 이용되며, 가열하면 이 특유의 맛이 사라지므로 주의 하셔야 합니다. 

발아는 6~25℃에서 이루어지며, 서서히 자라다가 뿌리를 내린 후부터는 성장속도가 빨라집니다.


이용

씨앗을 하루 정도 물을 갈아주면서 담가 놓았다가 전용 용기나 쟁반에 

솜이나 부직포 등을 깔은 후 골고루 퍼줍니다. 약 5~7일이면 싹을 잘라 먹을 수 있습니다​
