특성

  키가 작고, 매운 허브로 병충해와 추위에 강하며 40cm정도 자란다. 

여름에 4mm 정도의 작은 장미빛 자주색의 꽃이 뭉쳐져 피어난다. 

독특한 향기와 시원한 맛이 있는 녹색잎을 생산하는데 죽, 스프, 오므렛 샐러드에 맛을 돋구기 위해 

쓰이고 멕시코요리와 토마토를 이용한 요리, 피자등에 많이 사용된다. 드라이 플라워, 포푸리, 입욕제로도 사용된다.                                   

재배 및 유의사항
  햇볓이 잘들고 배수가 좋은 알카리성 토양을 좋아한다. 

실내에서는 2월부터 4월초까지 씨앗재배상에 배양토를 채워 파종한다. 작은씨앗이므로 씨앗을 얇게 덮고, 

촉촉한 상태와 10-13도 씨에 온도를 유지시킨다. 필요시 솎아내주고 경화시켜 5월에 30-40CM간격으로 재배한다.
실외에서는 4~6월, 9~10월에 파종하는데 습기를 유지시키고 필요시 솎아낸다. 

꺾꽂이와 포기나누기로도 번식이 가능하다. 봄과 여름 꽃피기 전에 수확한것을 건조시켜 보존한다.
