 ◎ 재배환경

생육적온은 18～22도로서 내한성이 매우 강해 영하 3도에서도 한해를 입지 않는다. 
토질은 깊고 보수력이 좋은 비옥한 토양에서 잘 자란다. 
토양의 적정 산도는 pH7로서 산성에는 약하므로 pH6.5 이하로 떨어져서는 안된다.
  

 

 

◎ 재배기술
한국에서는 5월에 파종해 6월 상순에 정식하며 10월에 수확하는 봄뿌림 형태와 
7월 상순에 파종해 8월 상순에 정식하고 11～12월에 걸쳐 수확하는 여름뿌림형태의 두 가지 작형이 있다. 
고랭지에서는 4월 중하순에 뿌려서 9～12월에 걸쳐 수확하는 방법도 가능하다. 
본잎이 2～3매 나왔을때 이식하고 6～7매 나오면 정식한다. 
정식 때 주간거리는 70×60cm 내외로 한다. 보통 폭 2m의 이랑에 두 줄로 심는 것이 좋다. 
육묘가 쉽지 않다. 과습건조에 주의해야 한다.
